I was just thinking about this book last night! I have a Borders gift card from Christmas burning a hole in my pocket and I was thinking of getting a new sewing book. I'll have to go see if they have yours in - I sure hope they do so I don't have to wait for it to be ordered!

i just bought a new sewing machine and walked into barnes and noble looking for a new sewing book and I happened upon this one. I am a beginning sewer and decided to try the kids smocked dress as my first project. Well I am stumped, I can't seem to get the elastic thread to gather enough to make it look right. I stitched up well and when I doused it with water it barely shrank at all. I am using a fairly lightweight fabric so I don't think that is the problem... any tips.. Next project is the yard sale skirt.... cant wait.

Well I'm just kicking myself here because I was flipping through your book at Barnes and Noble the other day and I should've just taken the plunge and bought it because I simply have to make that tunic (for starters). Back to the book store for me! :D

I absolutely love the book! Came earlier this week and I've been reading it a little each day. My jumping off point will probably be the backyard pup tent, the kids loved the idea.

Is it wrong to read while driving? Probably, but I couldn't help myself!

I'm a librarian and your book is in a stack of new domestic arts books I'm in the process of putting through and getting out to the stacks, actually my coworkers and I have the first holds, then the public get the! hey, we have to have some perks ;)
