Exhibition of New Quilts by Denyse Schmidt

Denyse is showing some beautiful new quilts at MOSS outdoor in Santa Fe this week, and since I had never been to this part of the country before we decided to make a little vacation out of it.

if you are in the SF area and would like to join us at the opening on Thursday night (tomorrow!) you can find out a bit more about it and see more quilts on their website.

We drove from Albuquerque yesterday morning, up the Turquoise Trail on route 14. The day deserves a longer post, of course, but highlights included some incredible galleries (more on those later) and finding a place called Java Junction in tiny Madrid that serves a cold chai tea with ice cubes made from coffee. I know. Life changing. We also stoppped at Tinytown, where a tiny western town has been built along the edge of the highway. We especially liked the church.

Isn't Sante Fe beautiful? That's a gorgeous quilt; please give Denyse my congratulations!

Ice cubes made from coffee??! Man, that is a stroke of genius. I had my first ever iced coffee this summer (I don't get out much) and that was an epiphany for me. Coffee cubes - trying that.

I feel as though I've just visited a gallery - your blog is very artistic. The chai tea with the iced coffee cube sounds incredible - now I'll have to search around to see if there is anything like that around.

If a quilt can rock your world, hang on.

Also, I'm now jonesing for that chai coffe combo. That's a little project right there.
