Summer of Making (in Portland, this weekend!)

I'm leaving in a few days for my favorite North American city (besides new York, of course), Portland Oregon. I have been threatening to move to Portland since 1996.  It has an even greater pull now that I've been away from the pacific northwest for five years (wow. has it been that long?) and am surprisingly homesick for fog and banana slugs.

I am very honored to have been asked to teach a workshop on fabric design at Pacific Northwest College of Art's SUMMER OF MAKING, where I will also be speaking (free, open to all, please come!) on Friday night. Please come and say hello!

i totally second the idea that you move to portland. see i have family there and can get there easily and it would make it so much easier to stalk...i mean, take a class from you someday. until that day comes i will just buy up all your fabric and drool over any and all projects that come from your talented mind.

your presentation was delightful. i was so surprised to have a "wait - she really exists in real life??" moment. kind of like a reverse santa claus realization.
