Bald Eagles at Home

Have you seen this? Its a live web-cam (and a pretty nice one at that) aimed straight into the nest of a pair of Bald Eagles and their two (soon to be three, oh when will that last egg hatch?) fuzzy babies. Its breakfast time as I write this, mom has her back to the camera and her foot on what I think used to be a rabbit. They all woke up just moments ago. My mother used to say that waking up with my sister and I was a lot like waking up to a bunch of baby birds, fast asleep one moment, mouths gaping and squawking for food the next.  Anyway, This is just so lovely, I had to tell you about it... you can learn more about the Raptor Resource Project here. Oh, everyone just went back to bed.... I could watch this all day.

I'm working with a bunch of ladies these days and we all sit in one office together. Someone will suddenly exclaim "PUPPIES!" and we will all quickly click over to our Puppy Tab ('cause we leave it open all day of course - duh) and squeal at whatever cuteness is going down.

I've been watching them. Decorah (where they're at) is just a hop skip and a jump from here. It was kind of funny I saw a ton of eagles while running some errands and I wondered "does everyone get to see eagles like this?" it's pretty cool.

Thanks for sharing! We will be sure to tune in.

Last year, we spent many nights as a family watching Molly the Owl http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/jul/19/molly-owl-returns-second-clutch/.

Winkin, Blinkin, and Nod have such a good mommy!! But I'm thinking that Nod is saying "which one of you dinkus siblings pooped on my head?!?" I watch this EVERY CHANCE I GET!!! Thanks for posting such a wonderful, peaceful, beautiful part of life.

I have been checking in on the eagles almost every day, and sometimes twice a day since this site was first brought to my attention a month or so ago. I have watched the eaglets grow from half the size of their parents to almost, if not as big. It was a thrill when I saw the young ones' first attempts at flying, and then actually flying out of the nest and back. Also, yesterday it was thrilling to see both mom and dad eagle bringing fish for supper, and all five, mom, dad, and their three young ones in the nest all the same time. Talk about a full nest! Thank you for sharing this.
