Ballpoint pen portraits of kids and pets are one of my most favorite things to make. After spending the pandemic forcing my family members to sit patiently while I made them, I realized (via intervention, if I’m being honest) that it’s much better to work from carefully made, well lit photographs.

I’m new to the Rivertowns, and would love the chance to meet some neighbors, so I’m offering up a limited number of ball point pen portrait commissions. The only catch is that you’ll have to come by (with that cute kid or pet) during my Open Studio on February 10th to have a quick photo taken. I’ll be here, of course, with lots of artwork, fabric, and books to share and sell, and my very special (and local) guest Jodi Levine of @supermakit will be running a fun Valentines Day Craft for kids and their grownups. We’ll also have some lovely snacks (and dog biscuits) and beverages of all kinds. 

Your portrait will be completed within 4-6 weeks of our Open Studio on Saturday, February 10th. You’ll receive both an original signed 4x6 portrait on archival paper, and a high resolution digital file. Additional prints are available for a small printing fee.

Once you’ve purchased a commission, We will reach out and schedule a time during our February 10th (11 am-2pm) Open Studio for your photo to be taken.
